What age groups does 3Cs Counseling Center offer services for?
We offer counseling services for all individuals 18+.
This may change occasionally, and any service updates will be communicated on 3Cs’ website.
What are your hours?
3C clinicians set their hours and operate by appointment only. Morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend appointments may all be requested.
However, specific appointment times depend on each clinician’s availability.
How much do you charge, and do you accept insurance?
3Cs Counseling Center charges the following fees:
Individual Intake Session: $195
Regular Session Rate: $175
Currently, 3Cs Counseling Center accepts Cigna, UHC/Optum, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, and Blue Care Network.
More credentialing is expected, and updates will be added as more policies become available.
What am I responsible for paying if I have an accepted insurance policy?
3Cs Counseling Center will ask for your insurance information upfront so that we can verify your benefits before treatment begins.
What you can expect to pay out of pocket will vary by several factors, including but not limited to whether:
- 3Cs Counseling Center accepts your plan.
- Your plan covers or doesn’t cover telehealth sessions.
- You have a maximum number of allowed visits, or your plan allows unlimited visits.
- Your plan requires a deductible be met first and, if so, whether you’ve met your deductible for the year at the time of initiating services.
- Your plan specifies any copay and coinsurance amounts due at the time of service.
3Cs Counseling Center will always tell you what to expect before your first visit.
It is essential to keep an updated policy on record to ensure accurate billing.
Please note that insurance companies determine coverage amounts. You will be responsible for paying out of pocket for anything not covered.
What payment methods do you accept?
3Cs Counseling Center requires adding a billing method to your account before treatment begins.
We will keep this payment method on file to cover out-of-pocket treatment expenses.
Currently, 3Cs accepts most major credit and debit cards and payments made directly to PayPal, Venmo, CashApp, or Zelle.
If you choose to use direct transfers to PayPal, Venmo, CashApp, or Zelle, please let your practitioner know upfront so that prior arrangements can be made.
HSA payments can also be made via Square. Following each session, we will store your HSA card for auto-payment.
3Cs Counseling Center believes in providing affordable, accessible care to all who need it.
A sliding scale and payment plans are available to those in financial need. Please email admin@3CsCounselingCenter.com if you need help affording care.
What is your cancellation policy?
We understand that life happens, and you may have to cancel or reschedule a session occasionally.
When this happens, contacting your therapist as soon as possible is best.
3Cs clinicians reserve the right to charge a late cancellation or no-show fee up to the total price of the session.
Your clinician will communicate their cancellation policy to you on or before your first session.
Will I need to complete intake forms, and if so, how does this work?
You will complete intake forms before your first session.
Your therapist will send the link to each form for you to complete.
If you require hard copies, please provide your mailing address, and it will be sent to you.
Please allow 5-7 days for delivery and 5-7 days for the forms to be returned by mail.
Note: The forms must be completed and returned before your first meeting.
If you need help completing any of the information on the forms, please leave it blank, and your therapist can review it with you during the intake session.
If I move out of state, can I still work with you?
3Cs Counseling Center is licensed to provide services only to residents of Michigan.
If you are moving out of state, please give your therapist advance notice whenever possible.
Your provider will hold a termination session with you to discuss aftercare resources.
If you want your records to be transferred to a new provider, request a Release of Information form to facilitate this.
How often will I meet with my therapist?
You’ll discuss session frequency with your therapist before the intake session or during your first meeting.
The frequency of your meetings will depend on the care you seek and your provider’s approach to ensure you can achieve your therapy goals.
Many times, meetings will initially take place either weekly or biweekly. However, depending on your individual needs, you may meet more or less frequently.
Note that you’ll generally begin by meeting consistently, and then meetings may be reduced over time to promote self-efficacy and success post-treatment.
The more consistent you are with keeping your appointments, the more likely you will benefit from therapy.
Therapists’ schedules will vary.
Some will have the same day/time availability week-to-week, while others can offer more ongoing flexibility.
If you prefer a specific time of day, please share this with your provider during your first meeting to ensure they can accommodate you.
My family member/friend/close acquaintance is looking for a therapist. Can you help?
3Cs aims to provide mental health services to all Michigan residents seeking care.
To initiate services, please have them contact (248) 397-5075 or admin@3CsCounselingCenter.com, or they can book an appointment directly here.
I am a family member, close friend, or close acquaintance of a 3Cs therapist and would like to request care with them. Is this possible?
Unfortunately, the answer is usually “no.”
While 3Cs Counseling strives to help everyone who needs mental health services, this is generally seen as a conflict of interest in an ethical sense.
However, there are many nuances in making this determination, and it is up to each clinician to determine whether they feel comfortable providing services, depending on their relationship with you.
3Cs is also happy to pair you with another available clinician on our team.
What will I work on with my therapist?
Your therapist will assist you in identifying and achieving specific treatment goals that are meaningful to you and track any progress made along the way.
You will work together on establishing a treatment plan early on.
You will review these goals periodically together to get an idea of where you are, making any adjustments as needed.
Your treatment will be highly individualized, and the time it will take to achieve each goal will vary.
During sessions, your therapist will introduce strategies and interventions to help you reach your goals.
You are encouraged to ask questions or raise concerns to ensure your therapist understands your feelings throughout the process.
Your therapist may occasionally ask you to review resources or complete assignments between sessions to support your progress.
What if I don’t think my therapist is a good fit?
Our team of clinicians is as diverse as the clients we serve! If you and your therapist aren’t clicking, don’t worry.
They won’t be offended if you choose to shop around a bit.
You can either discuss your concerns with your therapist to see if anything can be changed to serve you better, or you can contact our administrative team at admin@3CsCounselingCenter.com or (248) 397-5075 to request a transfer.
We’re happy to do the ‘Dear John’ writing for you!
My last therapy experience was terrible. How can I make sure this doesn’t happen again?
First, you’re not alone in this. It happens.
We encourage you to discuss what you did and didn’t like about previous therapy experiences, and there are several ways to do this.
You can bring it up in your initial phone consultation, when booking your first appointment, in your intake paperwork, or by contacting our administrative team at any time.
You can also discuss this with your therapist during your intake session.
Can my pet join the session?
Unfortunately, we can’t allow pets to join in-person sessions.
However, your pets are welcome to provide additional comfort during a telehealth meeting if they don’t take away from your time to share.
We’d love to meet them!
Can I log in while cruising the highway or during my hair appointment?
At 3Cs, we take your safety and privacy very seriously. If you are stuck in traffic, call your clinician to let them know you’re running a few minutes late. If you have an appointment, work with your clinician to cancel or set up another meeting time.
The only time I can meet is during my lunch break. Is it rude to eat during my session?
The short answer here is “no.”
Life is busy, and we believe in total body wellness. Please, eat up!
