Karen Poindexter, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), brings nearly two decades of experience working with youth and adults navigating complex emotional and behavioral challenges. Deeply rooted in her Christian faith, Karen began her career in residential treatment facilities, where she supported children and teens facing trauma, abuse, and mental health struggles. This formative work inspired her lifelong commitment to helping individuals feel heard, valued, and empowered to explore emotional healing and growth. Karen works with a wide range of concerns including grief, anxiety, ADHD, life transitions, and chronic health conditions. She is especially passionate about serving veterans and individuals coping with pregnancy and early child loss.

Karen’s therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in compassion. She draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, art therapy, and coaching to support clients in discovering their inner resilience and making meaningful change. Outside of the therapy room, Karen finds joy in music, crocheting garments without a pattern, and caring for her beloved Schicon dog, Virgo. She believes that, much like life itself, healing is a journey—one where every individual deserves a safe place to land and feel seen. A firm believer in prayer and the power of faith, Karen approaches her work with both heart and purpose.
